To give an idea of how long the Toronto Marlies had gone without a loss heading into this afternoon: Lou Lamoriello was still General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who were less than a week removed from being eliminated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

That’s a fancy way of saying that the Marlies entered today on a 10-game winning streak, that began after the Utica Comets put their backs to the brink of elimination in the first round of the Calder Cup Playoffs. All good things must come to an end, though, as the Blue and White finally conceded their first loss in over a month and their first loss at home since March 24th, falling 2-1 to the Texas Stars on Sunday afternoon.
